EVB Creative, Inc. is an innovative graphic design group located in the Flatiron District of New York City. The team is well known for the boldness of its design and an ability to successfully apply unexpected approaches to traditional communications and marketing initiatives.
EVB Creative has produced award-winning product catalogs, investor communications and annual reports, websites and interactive programs, packaging design, print ad campaigns, and corporate identity.
The 12-year-old firm has recently moved beyond its core strength in breakout graphic design, leveraging its understanding of market trends and consumer preferences to offer clients insightful brand repositioning and well-strategized, integrated marketing efforts. Owner Eric van den Brulle has also applied his talents for TV commercial and video direction, as well as photography and cinematography.
Eric earned a BFA in photography in 1985, then worked as a senior designer for mid-west design firm, Dawson Design Group. He moved to New York City in 1988 to become a photo-assistant for celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
In 1992, Eric was creative director of the New York-based design firm, The Burnett Group. There he worked on print advertising, collateral and web design for a wide range of clients including Merrill Lynch, The American Folk Art Museum, Société Générale, and Pepsi.
In 1997, Eric launched EVB Creative, Inc. He now leads a creative team responsible for strategy and design on print, web, film and photography projects for a diverse range of clients. Eric’s design and photography, as well as the work of his firm, have been recognized by many industry competitions and creative organizations, including: Communication Arts, Graphis, American Photography, Pusan and Berlin International Film Festivals, Celluloid Dreams, Office Kitano,The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Mead and AR100.
Michael Drechsler's experience as an art director ranges from design/production of fashion catalogs, on-figure as well as still life, to collateral design for financial companies. In the mid 70's Drechsler received his BA in Fine Arts in Hamburg where he also absolved an apprencticeship at Jeising & Beiersdorf ad agency, then moved on as photo assistant at Francois Cloteaux Studio.
Drechsler then headed for Asia to produce and choreograph fashion shows in Sinagapore, Hong Kong and Djakarta. Clients include Gianne Versace, Cacherel, Armani, Lanvin. In 1980 he moved to NYC where he worked as a video editor for International Air Check, facilitating a library of global aired commercials. During that time he founded Virta, Video Travel, a video company that provides Japanese tourists with customized tapes of their travel in New York. In the early 80's he became art director at Spiegel Brands, formerly Avon Fashions while developing his own clientele such as Charivari, Mestel & Co., Asian Business Advocacy, S.A. Jeans.
He consults, designs and produces print as well as interactive media for clients such as Macy's Home, MindShare, Artio Global Investors, and NY Times.
Chris has been a fashion industry producer since 1998. His first major project was a catalog and look book for the skateboard label Stond. Since then, he has orchestrated high-visibility fashion shows as well as brand specific trade shows. He has also designed fashion advertisements, websites, and promotional materials.
Chris has recently produced fashion stills and videos for some of New York’s top clothing brands including Dickies, Avirex, Cockpit, Van Heusen, Oscar De La Renta, Bill Blass, THElabel, Jordache, CBGB’s, K-mart and Enyce. Since 2008, he has also been the creative director on fashion advertising and promotions for the resurgent Ed Roth label.
Allan began his advertising career in 1983 at Wunderman Worldwide. There he received a Gold Caples Award for direct response excellence. He worked at Chiat Day Direct until 1988, then freelanced for major direct marketing clients including MetLife, AT&T and IBM. In the fall of 1993, Allan won a Silver Echo Award for the celebrated campaign to promote the U.S. Postal Service’s “Elvis Presley” stamp launch.
From 1994 through 2005, Allan was Vice-President/Creative Director of Sigma Group, a business-to-business ad agency in New Jersey. During his time there, Sigma grew from six to more than 30 employees with billings increasing from $2 million to $25 million. He pioneered work for the Panasonic Toughbook that ultimately won BtoB’s Best Integrated Campaign Award.
Allan is also the author of two best-selling guidebooks, New York's 50 Best Places To Find Peace And Quiet, (Rizzoli, 5th Edition) and New York's 50 Best Places To Take Children (Rizzoli,4th Edition).
Allan joined EVB Creative in 2007 as senior copywriter, brand strategist, and consultant to traditional and web-based businesses focused on upgrading the clarity and effectiveness of their online presence and marketing messages.
With 10 years of experience in the internet industry, Gregory has been directing and developing solutions for broad audience publications, entertainment and media. He has worked on the conceptual creation, design and development of beyou.tv, a live video community site around health and self development.
Gregory has been involved in the semantic web and tech new york communities such as LinkedData Planet, Semantic Web New York, barcamp. Gregory founded Nguma at the end of 2007 and since then has dedicated the company's focus in the research and development of the semantic internet space.
